Banks Panga IM 22
Pangas unique ride is due to a pad keel which starts at the stern at its widest point and tapers to the bow. This is one of the reasons why it requires so little horsepower for this size boat. The self bailing IM 22 has a maximum of 115 HP, however it can provide very economical and quick boating with 70HP. The Panga has become the ultimate choice for replacing two boats with one. Comfortably fish tunas and mahi offshore or run skinny for bone fish and drum.
The key features of the Banks Panga IM 22 design are high sides and high bow along with a beam of 6’5”. The high bow and gunwale provide buoyancy and elevation for casting and retrieval of carrying heavy loads and minimizes spray coming on board. She only draws around 11.5 inches and typically is outfitted with a hydraulic jack plate to take advantage of its shallow draft.

Seating Arrangement
The bow area is fully customizable and can be left completely open or turned into a large casting platform. If you are just out cruising, it becomes a very comfortable sun lounge deck with custom made cushions and fully removable, adjustable height and angle fwd facing backrests. The design of the bow seating has many advantages with safety being at the top of the list.
Sufficiently recessed fwd and aft seating is an option that many bay boats are lacking, but you will love the perfectly recessed seating option of the Banks Panga IM 22 which allows for family and friends to safely lounge up forward and back aft while running full speed. The aft seating has quick release backrest options leaving a clean stern for fishing when removed or for easily storing when not in use which helps make your cushions last. Seating also exists on the forward part of the center console if you choose this option. Helm seat options include stainless or aluminum rocket launchers, reversible seats and multiple fiberglass live bait well seat options with rocket launchers and built in insulated cooler.
Storage Features
The fiberglass seats include different size live wells with rounded corners and blue color inside for longer bait life as well as a built in insulated cooler under the helm seat offering plenty of storage space. Customize your boat with a choice of different size consoles some of which has a forward seat with additional storage underneath. A large self bailing anchor locker storage exists with notched hatch lids for flush closing of hatch while on anchor. The bow seating area has an additional large hatch behind the anchor locker for access to storage under the entire seating area. Under the transom seating if chosen there is more storage with two hatches that enter a space on a removable false floor. Under the removable false floor there is easy access to the bilge area and your rigging and pumps.
Custom T-Top
All Banks Panga’s T-tops are custom built right here in the Carolinas to the highest quality and strength using oversized 2" aluminum piping. All tops are a 100% welded piece. They are custom fit for the boat and console then mounted to both the deck and console in eight locations. It can include hard tops or canvas soft tops with electronics box and welded tabs for anything from led lights to outriggers.
Choose from an array of colors for the soft top and over 6,000 colors for powder coating the aluminum T-top. T-tops will be pre-drilled for running wires so no need to worry about future electronics installations. Friction doors for the electronic box will also provide an easy access. All tops come with four rocket launchers and an anchor light as standard, but we can customize them or design new ones to suit your needs.
Engine Power
Banks Pangas are usually rigged out with a Yamaha or Suzuki 4 stroke with a range of sizes to fit the customers’ needs. Hydraulic steering, hydraulic jack plates and digital multi function controls with fuel management systems to show off its superior efficiency are common options.
All engines are warranted through registered Yamaha and Suzuki dealers and may include specials for up to 6 years. Best engine ranges for IM 22 are 70hp to 115hp.
Navigation Tech
Garmin Charplotter Echomap plus 94sv touch screen 9” with keyed-assist, CHIRP Sonar, CHIRP ClearVu and CHIRP SideVu, detailed Bluechart g3 coastal, WiFi, quick draw contours, record and rewind, Panoptix Live Scope ready, NMEA 2000 network ready. View all this data including accepting text messages, emails and even phone calls right on your Echomap plus display with a NMEA network.
This with the ability to access and update your charts with ActiveCaptain App, plan and save waypoints and routes between the app and your plotter at home or on board. Even add autopilot and engine data to the networked Garmin display if desired. Customize your electronics with any size screen or Simrad products.
